 Lots of us do not understand this but bullying in schools can be one of the main reasons why the emotional development of children becomes slower.
In accordance with studies, bullying in schools builds some sort of a barrier in the minds of the children who are abused that the emotional maturity of these children is significantly affected. In most cases, children who have been subjected to bullying in schools for a long time turn out to be isolated and will have complicatedness in adjusting to society when they grow up.
Experts say that children who have been subjected to bullying in schools will most likely have troubled social lives when they grow up. The loss of self-confidence and sharp nervousness among children who have been incessantly bullied and dishonored in school is often complicated to conquer. Therapy may help these children get back their self-confidence but in many cases, they never actually reach to fully developed emotionally. Unluckily, the harm of bullying in school is not easily undone.
School Bullying Prevention
Children do not have to bear all the disgrace and violence in school. Parents and school officials can do lots of things to stop bullying in schools. Teachers should be watchful to the signs and symptoms of bullying in the classroom and in the school area. For example, if a child starts to demonstrate an aggressive attitude towards his peers, the teacher should try to call the attention of the child right away without embarrassing him. Sometimes children behave aggressively if they are bothered or they feel inadequate in some way. As children spend a lot of time in the school, the teacher should be watchful to the signs of emotional disturbances in the children under her care.
In the incident where the teacher takes notice that one of her students is always bullying others, the teacher should clear up the reason why this child is behaving that way. She should ask for a meeting with the child’s parents and tell them about the problem. She should work closely with the parents to correct the behavior of the child as smoothly as possible. Note that children do not actually react well to cruel treatment and punishment. In most cases, children who are disturbed will only become disobedient if you try to tell them that what they are doing is wrong. That’s why it is very important to hand the issue delicately.
