School bullies have always been a problem. This information will help you determine if your teen is being bullied and being a school bully. Get to know what you can do.
 
Signs of Bullying
school_bullyingAs a rule, school bullying appears in several forms. It involves a pupil or a group of pupils consistently harming another by the following means. 
  hitting or threatening (physical bullying)
  teasing and name calling (verbal bullying)
   spreading rumors, hurting someone's reputation or leaving someone out (social isolation)

Boys usually tend to fall into the first category. Girls will more likely do the verbal and mental bullying.

Signs of being bullying
Some symptoms of your child being bullied are more obvious than others. Thus, physical signs are easier to notice, but mental turmoil is more likely to be kept hidden. Staying aware of your child's behavior at all times can make all the difference. 
  Unwillingness to go to school
  Grades falling
  Depression, low self-esteem, mood changes
  Problems with sleeping
  Headaches, stomach-aches and other pain
  Problems with eating
  Attempted suicide

What you can do if your teen is being bullied at school
1. Talk to your child. Try to make your child open up as much as possible about what has been going on.
2. Talk to the school. Ask your school if they have a no bullying rule. If not, request that they get together to create one.
3. Avoid situations. If bullying takes place in certain situations, have them change their routines to avoid the bullying. For example, bullying is more likely to happen while the child is alone.

What you can do if your teen is school bully
1. Talk to your child. Find out if there are things going on in your child's life that may be prompting this behavior.
2. Seek help. Make an appointment with your child's doctor or mental health professional. They are the people best prepared to deal with this type of situation.
