Girls usually begin to get acne when they reach puberty age and begin producing female hormones. That is approximately age 11 to 13. Concerning boys, they start getting acne at the age nearly of 12 or even later, somewhere around 14 or 15. The cause for this is that boys mature later than girls. And the most terrible thing for teens will certainly be the ongoing struggle with the acne, as the acne issue can affect teens for quite some time without going away.

For better understanding their children parents should have a good dialogue with their sons and daughters and help to find a solution to the acne problem.

Nevertheless, some parents think that acne is not a big problem at all. They think that that their children are overacting, or that acne does not need to be cured at all as it is just some minor beauty problem and that their children are too young to be concern about cosmetic issues. But of course, to their children, it is a huge problem! Other parents consider that acne is just an age-related condition and it will disappear when the child grow older. Well, this may or may not be so true. For some, it might just be a small health issue, but for a few cases where one has serious acne outbreak, acne can leave behind permanent scars that cannot go away or even serious disfiguring condition in extreme conditions.

That’s why, it is important to point out that for acne issues concerning teens, one should try to control the acne condition from getting too serious. On the other hand, teens should not let this acne issues from affecting their social life. Appearance is only just one aspect of life. There is definitely a lot more than just appearance. So, do not ever let acne defeat you in spirit!
