The National Youth Violence Prevention Center has made up the list of warning signs that your teen may be having anger management issues:
frequent loss of temper over small issues,
frequent fighting with peers and family members,
damaging property while in a fit of anger,
  drug and alcohol use
  written plans for violent acts,
  carrying a weapon,
been the victim of school bullies,
  joining gang
failure to acknowledge the feelings of others
fascination with weapons and cruelty to animals

It is very difficult to struggle with teen anger management. The main point is to know what level of anger is acceptable and what has gone too far. Teenagers are under a great deal of pressure, and there is no doubt about that. That’s why when anger reaches to the point of scaring someone or causing harm to someone or something, that means that there is too much anger. Very often, teenagers, just like everyone else, need anger management techniques taught to them to overcome these situations.

What to do
Most teen management professionals believe that dealing with a teen with an anger problem should start at home. They think that most teen anger flows from underlying emotional problems like fear or rejection or failure. Recommendations on what to do when your child has an anger management issue include:

Provide them with support and understanding. Try to get to the real issue not just what is on the surface.
Explain them that everyone has negative emotions and that it's ok to get angry, but it's not ok to lash out because of their anger.
Watch for triggers and find a way to direct the anger into something more appropriate.
Help them to recognize the feelings that cause the anger and how to deal with them before they get out of control.
